Course-Aim
Catheterisation can play an important role in care but it is also the most common cause for health care acquired infection. This 2 hour course looks at how to maximise the benefits and minimise the problems.
Course-Content
- Understand the urinary tract
- Reasons for using an indwelling catheter
- Examine the pros and cons of intermittent catheterisation
- Understand catheter problems and when to call for medical assistance
- State what records need to be maintained for effective catheter care management
- Benefits of accurate fluid balance charts
- Understand the emotional, social & sexual consequences of catheterisation
Course-Duration
Online: The timing and duration is flexible to your requirement.
In-house: This course is run over a period of 2 hours. Minimum of 8 delegates required.
Course-Certification
A certificate of attendance is awarded on successful completion of Catheter Care awareness.
