- BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Dementia Care (QCF)
The BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Dementia Care (QCF) assesses learners’ knowledge, understanding and skills of caring for individuals with dementia. This qualification is aimed at those who are already working in care roles with individuals with dementia and provide an opportunity to have their knowledge and skills recognised through achievement of a nationally accredited qualification. It assesses learners’ competence, for example, their ability to perform a range of tasks in areas of practice such as communication and interaction, equality and diversity, individuals’ rights and choices.
To achieve the BTEC Level 3 Certificate in Dementia Care (QCF), learners must gain a minimum of 21. To do this they must achieve 15 credits from the mandatory units and six credits from the optional units.
Mandatory Units:
It is anticipated that learners will progress onto the level 3 Diplomas in Health and Social Care or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services (England).
Flexible study but could be completed within 1 to 3 months.
